The Art of Healing @ TTSH
Tan Tock Seng Hospital launched the Art of Healing programme on 6 February 2006. This is an initiative that aims to use the arts as a form of therapy to soothe patients’ mind and body and help them on their path to recovery. Through the arts, the hospital is transformed into a warm, welcoming and enriching environment for patients, families, staff and visitors.
Last year, NUS Piano Ensemble was honoured to perform at TTSH for this programme and play our part in contributing to the community with our talents. We put up a tea-time concert at the atrium of the hospital; patients and visitors alike made their way down to listen. We featured soothing and romantic pieces, creating a calming and peaceful atmosphere in the hospital. Pieces performed included Brahms’ Intermezzo No. 2 in A major, Op.118, Debussy’s Arabesque No. 1 and Rainbow, a self-composed piece by our very own member, Clarissa.
