Touch

Touch is our annual ticketed concert, featuring a myriad of piano works and catering to a variety of classical tastes. The repertoire seeks to inspire the audience's appreciation of more complex piano works, as well as challenge our performers to push themselves to greater heights. All pieces featured make full use of two pianos, as they are written for either piano duo or eight hands piano quartet.

On 7th March 2010, Touch was held at the Lee Foundation Theatre, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), and featured guest pianists from School of the Arts (SOTA) and NAFA as well as percussionists from NUS Wind Symphony. We presented both well-known works such as Saint-Saens' Danse Macabre and Milhaud's Ox on the Roof, alongside seldom-heard composers like Tcherepnin, and quintessential favourites such as Holst and Debussy. Two Singapore premieres were also performed: Martucci's Fantasia in D minor, op. 32, and the Coronation Scene from Mussorgsky's opera Boris Godunov. It was magical night of musicmaking and we look forward to Touch 2011.
